The Clinical Medical Assistant class is 14 weeks delivered in a hybrid format. Medical Assistants are important members of the healthcare team. They can perform administrative and clinical duties.  Clinical Medical Assistants obtain vital signs, assist medical practitioners with clinical exams, and administer medication.

During weeks 1—12 students will complete assignments at home and come in-person for hands-on learning experience and simulations with expert instructors on Thursdays 8:30am—12:30pm.

In weeks 12-14 students will complete 80 hours of clinical learning/externship. Students will be placed at a clinical site.

The cost of this class is $1850. A payment plan can be arranged with $315 down payment (includes the $150 non-refundable registration application fee) and $260 every 2 weeks. The down payment reserves your seat in the class. All program costs must be paid in full prior to attending the in-person lab and clinical learning site for externship.

 Admission requirements: All applicants must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma/GED and must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

4.    Negative Drug screen

5.    Negative TB skin test or Chest X-ray

6.    Physical – on our physical form

7.    The payment of registration application fee and arrangements to pay program cost.

8. Signed admissions application, enrollment documents

9. Uniforms (purchased by student)

Proof of immunization:

a.    3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccination (titer as proof of immunity or sign waiver)

b.    2 doses of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer as proof of immunity)

c.     2 doses of Varicella (titer as proof of immunity or documented proof of chicken pox)

d.    Tdap and influenza (during flu season September to March)

e. Proof of COVID vaccination if required

f. Proof of health insurance

 All documents including proof of Immunizations must be submitted 1 week before the 1st day of class.

Students who successfully complete the Clinical Medical Assistant class at Georgia Training Center will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Upon successful completion of program requirements, students are prepared to take the national certification examination to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with National Healthcareer Association (nhanow.com)

This program is an approved program under The Georgia Non-public Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC).
